Nokia planning to file a patent lawsuit against HTC for copying the look and design of its handset
Once again there is news about lawsuits filing in the in the court of law. If you are wondering now what Apple and Samsung are suing each other for, then you are wrong with your imagination, this time it is Nokia suing HTC. These two handset manufacturers are tangled in patent related lawsuits with one suing the other for the copy of look and design of the other company’s phone. According to sources, Nokia is thinking about suing HTC, alleging that HTC has copied the look and design of Nokia Lumia 820 with HTC 8X.
Reports state that Nokia is preparing its patent case against HTC and is looking for the possibility of getting HTC 8X banned in certain regions, Nokia feels strongly that the front face of the HTC 8X replicates the front of Nokia Lumia 820 and also the side curves of the body.
Finnish based handset manufacturer, Nokia has introduced its Windows 8 flagship model, Nokia Lumia 920 in addition to the Nokia 820. Nokia Lumia 920 is set to release in the markets in November. HTC, the Taiwan based handset manufacturer has also announced HTC 8X, HTC 8S. Nokia has announced its windows 8 line phone, Nokia Lumia two weeks prior to the announcement of HTC’s line of Windows 8 phone. All the four models of phones two from Nokia and two from HTC are set to launch in November after Windows 8 phone is launched. This means that if Nokia wants to get HTC’s phone 8 flagship banned, it needs to hurry and file to the appropriate courts and agencies soon.
Until then we have to just wait and see what happens in another major patent war lawsuit.
