It is not with just the super technology and low prices you can win the consumers heart. These companies need to touch their hearts to win them and to do so the best way is to advertise. And these mobile companies spend billions of money in advertising their products.

Analysts are predicting that the leading mobile companies Apple, Microsoft, Samsung are to spend billions of money in advertising their products for this Christmas. It seems like the battle has begun for winning the consumers hearts and wallets this month with the release of Samsung S III mini earlier this week and Apple’s iPad mini to be released on October 23rd and the biggest product launch of Microsoft in its entire life the Windows 8 this weekend. It is said that this company has set aside an amount of $ 1.5 billion to $1.8 billion for its advertising. Similar figures are predicted to be used by other tech giants. Analysts say that apart from presidential elections it s the only occasion where sum on such a large scale is spent.

Microsoft was always known for spending huge money on advertising but now even younger companies like Google that relied on traditional methods like growing rich through clicks, links and word spread through mouth seems to follow the path.

Google has spent $1.4 billion in3 years which are 3 times to what it used to spend earlier. Now, since Google earns Motorola the total spend is $ 2.1 billion. Amazon has doubled its budget for advertising from $ 593(2009) to $ 1.4 billion (2011). The annual reports for some of the largest technology advertisers show that they spent a $ 1.5 billion for promotions in the recent financial year. Samsung has spent $2.7 billion for advertising in 2011.

Apple, Samsung and windows seem to be in never ending battle top of the technology charts. With Apple and Samsung using their marketing strategies will retain the top 2 spots. However, Windows need to catch up if it does not want to be left behind. Both these companies are trying best to win the consumer’s hearts and advertising best with billions of money to win the customer’s wallets.

Microsoft–  $ 1.6 billion for advertising Windows 8 OS for Tablets and PC’S, Microsoft Surface tablet and Windows 8 Smartphone.

Samsung$ 2.7 billion for advertising Galaxy S III, S III mini, Galaxy Tab 2 tablet.

Amazon–  $ 1.4 billion advertising for Kindle Fire HD tablet, Kindle Paper white e reader.

Google–  1.5 billion for Nexus 7 tablet, LG Nexus 4 Smartphone.

Apple–  933 million for iPhone 5, iPad mini and new iPad.

These are the amounts that the mobile companies spend on advertising their products. It is probably going to increase with Christmas approaching. So, these last few months of the year it is going to rain technology.
