Iphone 5 Pre-order Sales
The iPhone 5, the latest 6th generation iPhone 5 bagged two million orders in 24 hours shattering the record held by its predecessor iPhone 4S. Orders for the new model opened at midnight on Friday, Silicon valley time or 8 am in Britain.
After the shocking and recording breaking sales of the iPhone 5 in just one hour, the analysts declare it a success. When compared to the iPhone 4S, which sold out in 22 hours, iPhone 5 took just 20 hours to be sold.
The company Apple Inc, has declared that demand for the iPhone 5 has exceeded the initial supply. This was a little depressing for the iPhone lovers as they waited for so long to grab the new iPhone but the result was a constrained supply. Majority of the orders will be delivered to customers on Friday, many are now scheduled for delivery in October. So, people will have to wait until then as the age old saying goes, “Patience is bitter but the fruit(Apple) is sweet.
Apple’s marketing chief, Phil Schiller said” iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal.”
Two charity fundraisers have camped out of Apple’s flagship store in Covent Gardens since Friday to become the first of all to own an iPhone5. The first in line was Sagitarius Catharis, equipped with a chair, small table and blanket. He said he was promoting a local chat service App Vibe. The second in the line was Keenen Thompson. He said” we waited 18 days for iPhone 4S last year, we decided to do it again. There is no fun in ordering it on the internet. Here people pass by and talk.”
Such is the love for the new iPhone 5. We have to wait and see how many more records this new phone breaks by the end of this year.
