The Oscar Mayer Institure has developed one small device which works with your smartphone, because most people today have alarms on their smartphones, not on alarm clocks.
Anyway, the Oscar Mayer Institute made a little research and developed that gadget that can produce a smell of freshly made fried bacon. Since Americans love bacon and it is in their most important meal of the day, breakfast, they came up with the idea of waking up with the smell of bacon. So, the alarm starts, you can hear bacon frying in the fire and you can also smell it. That little device will be able to fill the entire room with the smell of bacon. So, the alarm consists of two things, the sound of frying bacon and the smell of it. There isn’t any better way to wake up, than this. For now this isn’t on the market, actually you can download the sound of it, but for the device and the smell you must wait for some time.
Even though this device is rather new and uncommon technology, there is a similar device in Japan that does the same thing. This device that also produces smell is on the Japanese market for about a year now, but it isn’t as popular as this Oscar Mayer Instute. I guess it is due to the bacon. The Japanese version doesn’t have the smell of bacon, but it has something else. This version works on the same principle, it is a little gadget that you can connect to your mobile phone, today smarthphone, and when they are synchronized, they work together. Smell that is used in this device ins’t bacon, but it is all kinds of flowers and fruit. In the future they will make more fragreances. This little device isn’t just an alarm clock, you can set it to be whatever you want. If you want to smell your favorite flower when you are recieving a notification through Facebook, you can set it in few basic steps. The same thing is with phonecalls, texts, e-mails…. Great thing about this Japanese version is that every device has the ability to reproduce some smell for about 100 times and the refill costs about 5 dollars which is a great price.
At first, cinematography introduced sense of smell into their performance for better atmosphere, but these days it has spreaded in many other parts of technology. Besides smarthopes, you can attach your computer, laptop or even tablet and smell the game you are playing. We are sure that this is just a beginining, soon people will be able to smell and test best cologne for men and perfume for woman without going to the store.
