Apple’s SIRI is the voice recognition system of the iPhone. The user’s wish is its command. It lets the user’s voice to send messages, make phone calls, schedule meetings and perform many other tasks. There are a lot of other things this genius can do than just searching online and answering the user’s questions. Here is what it can do.

1.      Calculations

Adding large numbers on a calculator or a mobile phone is a big painful task. But it is easy with SIRI. You can just read the list of numbers into your iPhone and let SIRI to carry the required task of adding or subtracting etc and it does the task for you. It uses Wolfram Alpha for the answer. Once the task is done it gives you a list of the tasks you gave it and also the answer.

2.      Reserving a Table

SIRI can make table reservations. It finds places for users to drink and dine.  It provides info to pick a place and also reserves tables for you. It provides info like type of food, rating of the restaurant, location and distance, reservations, contact info, directions to get to the place. SIRI makes reservation through Open Table app.

3.      Launching Applications

Previously SIRI had one disadvantage. It could not launch apps. Now in the iPhone 5 SIRI can launch apps. You can now launch apps with a simple verbal command using SIRI. All you need to do is hold the home button to summon SIRI and say Open and the app name and Siri does the rest.

4.      Posting on Social Networks

SIRI can now update Facebbok and Twitter. You just need to give SIRI a verbal command to post on Facebook or Twitter and she will take the dictation of what you want it to post and then does it to your Facebook and Twitter account.

5.      Finds Science facts

The finding science facts by SIRI are another Wolfram Alpha trick. When you ask Wolfram the scientific names of animals or plants, it answers them too. The number of questions it can answer to is big and unimaginable.

6.       Creating a Password

If you want a good and strong password you need not strain your brain creating one. All you need to do is say “Wolfram, password”, and you get a 8 character difficult to crack password.

7.      Movie suggestions

Tell SIRI you want to watch a movie and it will show you the Rotten Tomatoes reviews for movies. It will also provide you the show timings of the theatres near you. If you ask SIRI about her own review of the movies she will provide with some great synopsis.

8.      Sports information

SIRI can now relay sports scores and other info of your favorite sport. If you need to know the score of a game and ask SIRI, it will provide a display card with complete score summary and also gives an audible message of your team’s win or loss. You can also learn of team rankings, player info, gaming schedule etc.

9.      Finding emails from a Specific contact

If you are having troubles finding an important email do not waste your time searching for it all by yourself. Just ask SIRI to find the mail by mentioning the name of the sender. You can also ask SIRI to find all the emails with the specific subject.

10.  Sending Texts

You do not have to use your finger tips to text someone now. Just use your voice to command SIRI to send a message and it will be done. When you are driving or busy doing some other work and cannot stop to text, just say send text to the name of the person you want to send the text and then say the message content and SIRI will send the message. It is as simple as that.
