Make a presentation with iPhone

These days, we use our iPhone’s for pretty much everything. Whether it’s to Google something we don’t know, find our way around a new city or catch up on the latest TV; our trusty iPhones serve us well.
What’s more, iPhones and iPads are increasingly common in the business world. As well as essential business tools like email, our iPhones can even help us catch up on work when we’re on the move. If you find yourself staying late at the office to finish off that all-important business presentation, make your iPhone a tool for getting this done and create your presentation on the journey to and from the office, or from the comfort of your own home.

Apps

Like everything you use your iPhone for, making a great presentation is down to the Apps you have. When it comes to creating the presentation itself, the App to have is Keynote.
Keynote is Apple’s answer to Microsoft PowerPoint and it’s the fastest, and simplest, way to make a presentation on your iPhone. It allows users to create their presentation by editing existing themed slides, inserting text and multimedia.

The obvious drawback here is that presentations made using Keynote can lack a sense of originality, because they’re simply editions of the predesigned Apple slides. However, you can animate your presentation, to give it variety and appeal.  What’s more, like everything on your iPhone, your work will automatically be saved to iCloud, so there’s no danger of losing that key presentation.

You can download Keynote from the App Store, by clicking here.

Displaying data

If your presentation is data driven, and it’s your job to persuade a group using this data, then you’ll need an effective way of displaying it.
Take a look at Ios software provided by ShinobiControls, which is designed to do just that. This software allows users to display data clearly and attractively, so it’s a fantastic tool for presentation making. ShinobiControls also offer this product on a trial basis, so that users can try the features before they make a purchase.

The big screen

As fantastic as your presentation is, you’re never going to make an impact on your audience if you ask them to huddle around your 5 x 2 inch iPhone screen.
Projecting your presentation from you iPhone to a bigger screen is relatively simply, although how you do it will depend on what you’re projecting the presentation on to. If you’re using a projector, you’ll need a VGA adaptor, which you can find cheaply online. Take a look at this short video, which demonstrates how to connect an iPhone and a projector.

If your company boardroom has a TV in it for presentation purposes, the method is the same, although you’ll need to use an A/V adaptor. These can also be purchased online. The obvious drawback with both of these methods, is that you’re limited to how much you can move around the room and interact with your audience.

A way to avoid this is using Apple’s specifically designed Apple TV, which is a small appliance fitted to your TV. It’s more expensive than an adaptor (you can expect to pay around £100 for this product) although it allows you to project information from any Apple device to a TV without the need for wires. This a valuable investment for your business environment, if you and your colleagues are planning on using iPhones and iPads to create your presentations for the foreseeable future.
