The first mobile phone was invented in 1973 by Marin Cooper of Motorola. It was 2 kg in weight and its sole purpose was for calling.
Today cell phone is much more them for the mere purpose of calling somebody. Here are some common uses of our mobile phones.

Many years ago if you had a phone that could access the internet and you never bothered about the data usage charges then you were ‘cool’. Nowadays, literally every phone has this basic feature, be it a Smartphone or a low cost mobile.

A few years ago mobile applications did not really exist. They were called ODP or on device portals and they were pre-loaded as an added value by the manufacturer. Nowadays they are available for download as per the users’ choice. Some of the apps are free to download whereas others need to be paid for.
4. Games download
The cell phone business for games download is dominated by 2 markets. One is aimed at the young age group of under 20 males and females and the other market is those above 40. There different games for different age groups and also categorized according to sex. Some mobile companies even launch mobiles specifically for gaming. Users can play games either by downloading and installing them in their device and play whenever they want or get a monthly subscription of the games they like.
5. Music download
This is another major reason we use a mobile phone. Music downloads is a billion dollar game. This has lead leading mobile companies like Apple, Nokia, Samsung to create their own stores and portals where mobile users can purchase music and also upload their own.
